Atmel’s revenue rose 3 percent on Monday to $343.6 million exceeding analysts’ expectations of $338 million. Increased production of their touch screen and microcontroller boosted revenue. Through the touch technology Atmel expects to gain significant market share and its microcontroller is already accelerating into the technological realm. A microcontroller is an whole computer located on one chip, which can be used in cars as well as smart phones.
