Jefferies (JEF) – $6 Million to Help in Haiti

Jefferies & Co. an independent banking system, and global securities company is taking the donations from today to help with relief in Haiti. These donations will be made to The American Red Cross, UNICEF, Save the Children, the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), Partners in Health, Americares, Shelterbox and HEART 9/11. The donations will be coming from the company’s net commissions earned on Friday from global trading opertions, donations from the company’s employees, and an additional 1 million the firm has pledged to donate. The total in donations is expected to be around $6 million with the additional 1 million from the firm.
