Mattel is the number one toy company in the United States, which produces Barbie Dolls, Blues Clues toys, Hot Wheels, and plenty others. The toy store’s profits went up 86 percent with sales on their Barbie and Hot Wheels toys. During the Christmas season, many toys were bought and Mattel made a profit even though it cut back on some of their toys, resulting in a greater profit. The company didn’t give specifics about their plans for the rest of the year.
Hasbro hangs in Mattel’s shadow with an increased profit of 77 percent, their increase was due to the amount of boys’ toys sold, including transformers and Toy Story 3.
